Nala Studio Architects features in Haven Magazine

Nala Studio Architects latest interior renovation featured in the February edition of Haven Magazine. The renovation included updating the kitchen and bathroom, including a laundry cupboard and a small walk-in pantry in this art deco home in New Lynn.

We opened up the kitchen and changed the layout so it’s an open plan kitchen and dining area with a small breakfast bar (made from recycled wood from the house), we introduced a little colour and added a brass detail along the bench down the side panel to mirror the brass light fitting tube above.

The bathroom was also renovated, with a bit more colour and with the brass detail to draw attention to the junctions between the different materials, with the mirror and light fittings adding a little old school glamour to the bathroom, while the recycled timber shelves on the opposite wall provide much-needed storage space.

The clients love their new entertaining kitchen area and the new bathroom, but we think their cat (Bowie) is the biggest fan of the bathroom, see if you can spot him in one of the photos giving us his unimpressed look. Don’t worry his nap wasn’t disturbed for too long and we believe he made up for lost napping time later.
